I’ve had a stack of coverless comics sitting around. Looking through them, I liked this page. Great combination of decisive inks, clear staging, and wonky rushed proportions/construction. I love that guy’s purple coat, and the little town in the middle panel. It’s likably shoddy. Since the book was really just scraps, I don’t know who the artist is, sry. Let me know and I’ll add it.

Packing to move, found this abandoned woodblock. The text was too small for my tools/skills to carve cleanly and readably. You can see in the 2nd pic where I started carving and messed up. In the last pic, I went ahead and flipped it in Pshop so you can see how the print should have read.

This block is from a series of one-page strips I’ve been doing, and I’m going to start posting them online in the next week in advance of putting them together as a book for the Fall.

New story!

A Year In Which Nothing Much Happened

This was originally a b&w single-sheet book on butcher paper. I always thought it needed some color. You can also read it at my website and if you like it, consider checking out my recent book.

Hope you like it!

I’ve got a new story coming to the blog Wednesday, but in the meantime, a reminder that my recent book Up To the Top is still available on my website and at finer comic shops.
